Credit Union Software Provider Reduces Costs, Connects Writers Company-Wide and
Decreases Workload With DITA and XMetaL Author Enterprise

NEW YORK & VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(Business Wire)--
JustSystems, the largest independent software vendor in Japan and a worldwide
leader in XML and information management technologies, today announced that
Symitar, a division of Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq:JKHY) that provides
credit unions with software systems and related services, has been able to reap
the benefits of structured authoring. Symitar has successfully cut costs,
connected its writers throughout the organization, and decreased its writing
workload by implementing DITA and JustSystems` XMetaL Author Enterprise.

Since being acquired by Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. in 2000, Symitar has grown
exponentially and so has the workload of its technical publications department.
Each year the company produces three large software updates, placing tremendous
pressure on the 10-person team to keep up with product documentation changes. In
the past, this has left little room for taking on strategic projects that could
potentially add value for the customer and for Symitar. The company knew it was
time to abandon its existing unstructured authoring system.

To address Symitar`s documentation challenges, the company moved to a structured
authoring system using XMetaL Author Enterprise, which has empowered both
technical and non-technical writers to create valid, structured XML content that
can be shared and reused throughout the organization. Also, JustSystems allows
Symitar authors to focus on small chunks of information rather than monolithic
documents. This approach has reduced errors, cut costs, and saved time - freeing
up team members to work on other projects for the company. Finally, by getting
writers to accept JustSystems` collaborative, bottom-up approach to
documentation, Symitar`s documentation team has increased employee morale and
enhanced its status across the company.

"What began as a documentation group project now has become a company-wide
Symitar initiative," said Terry Barraclough, technical publications manager for
Symitar. "Our department is no longer looked at as the guys who write the
`documentation` releases, but as the conduit for expertise in how to use XML,
how to arrange information, how to automate tasks - this is a complete shift in
perception. By implementing XMetaL Author Enterprise, XML has really become a
key lever for competitive advantage, and the documentation team is at the center
of that strategy."

"XMetaL Author Enterprise ensures the timely delivery of consistent information
across documents, products, and channels - and thus helps boost efficiency and
customer satisfaction in less time, for less cost," said Aaron Deitcher, vice
president of North America and EMEA for JustSystems. "We`ve watched Symitar`s
documentation team benefit from XML, and now other departments within the
company are getting wind of this, which is building the case for a company-wide
content management system that can be capitalized and depreciated over time. We
look forward to seeing the Symitar deployment continue to proliferate."
