Inaugural commencement will celebrate a distinctive program in legal education

WHAT: The 160-member inaugural class of Drexel University`s Earle Mack School of Law, which has helped the School realize its vision of reshaping legal education, will receive JD degrees today May 27, during a ceremony at Philadelphia`s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The Commencement will celebrate both student achievement and the innovative approach Drexel University has taken to preparing the next generation of legal professionals.
Providing students with an education that is both infused with experiential learning and academically rigorous has been a guiding principle since Drexel Law`s inception. Graduates and Drexel officials will reflect on the School`s progress and the achievements of the students from 21 states and six foreign countries.
WHO: Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, will join Drexel Interim President C.R. "Chuck" Pennoni and founding Dean Roger J. Dennis in officiating at the commencement ceremony. Giuliani will deliver the keynote address and receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Eliana Papadakis and Maria Papadakis, wife and daughter of the late Drexel President Constantine Papadakis will be on stage. It was under Papadakis` administration that the law school was established
in 2006.
