  LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, May 27 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
African Copper plc (AIM: ACU)(BOTSWANA:AFRICAN COPPER) was notified on 26
May 2009 of a change in the notifiable interest held by Barclays plc in
the ordinary shares of the Company.

    As from 26 May 2009 Barclays plc no longer has a notifiable interest in
ordinary shares in the Company.
