Haven Custom Homes Partners With Whisper Mountain Developers to Build the 2009
Southern Living Choose Your Home Giveaway Home Presented by MyHomeIdeas.com

ASHEVILLE, N.C., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Whisper Mountain developers Charlie
and Troy Ball and Haven Custom Homes have completed the 2009 Southern Living
Choose Your Home Giveaway home presented by MyHomeIdeas.com. The giveaway home
-- Whisper Creek Cabin -- is one of four being offered in the giveaway
sweepstakes and located in the community of Whisper Mountain, in the Blue
Ridge Mountains north of Asheville, NC.

Whisper Creek Cabin, designed by Allison Ramsey Architects, features 1,550
square feet with two bedrooms and two and a half baths. The charming cottage
has a rustic cabin feel and blends in perfectly with the natural surroundings
of the NC mountains. The wraparound porch made from natural materials,
beautiful stone fireplace and antique furnishings all add to its charm and
cozy appeal.

The home also has an impressive list of green credentials and is certified to
Energy Star and NC HealthyBuilt Homes programs.

Built in Haven's climate controlled production facility, the home is green by
design. Haven's indoor production facility allows for home materials to be
protected from the weather which reduces the risk of warping, moisture damage
and mold. The modular building technique also provides an overall tighter
building envelope resulting in increased air quality and energy efficiency
from building practices that include enhanced sealing measures, proper
installation of R-value insulation and use of low VOC paints.

"We are privileged to participate in the 2009 Southern Living Choose Your Home
Giveaway program and honored to be selected by Charlie and Troy Ball. We're
very delighted to partner with them and applaud their commitment to continue
growing a sustainable community that honors and preserves the environment,"
said Jerry Smalley, CEO and president for Haven Custom Homes.

Once the home was delivered and set onsite, the green building practices were
notably extended and kept in the Whisper Mountain Living Green theme of
recycling, reuse and renewal. Natural native materials were recycled and
incorporated throughout the home.

"Haven Homes' environmentally sensitive building process advances a
homeowners' commitment to green building. Haven is well-versed in building
homes that can meet the green certification thresholds of both state and
national green built programs. What's more, Haven's modular construction
technique limits disruption of the natural beauty of a home site," said
Charlie Ball, developer of Whisper Mountain.

Whisper Creek Cabin is currently open to the public for tours on Wednesdays
through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is five dollars and all proceeds benefit the Southern Appalachian
Highlands Conservancy. To learn more about Whisper Creek Cabin and the
