Attorney General Eric Holder to Participate in G8 Justice Ministerial in Rome

WASHINGTON, May 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Attorney General Eric Holder
travels to Rome, Italy today for the G8 Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial.
He will hold bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts in addition to
participating in the G8 meetings.

The Attorney General will meet with Italian Justice Minister Angelino Alfano,
Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni and Canadian Justice Minister Robert
Nicholson. The Attorney General will also participate in a ceremony for the
exchange of Instruments of Ratification for U.S.-Italian Extradition and
Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties and a signing ceremony for the U.S.-Italian
Agreement to Prevent and Combat Serious Crime. These meetings and the
ceremonies are closed press.

The Attorney General will participate in the first two sessions of the G8
Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial focused on organized crime, child
pornography and cybercrime, and migratory issues. The Attorney General will
also meet with Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, French Justice
Minister Rachida Dati, French Interior Minister Michele Alloit-Marie and
Russian Justice Minister Aleksandr Konovalov. The Attorney General will also
attend an event honoring the late Judge Giovanni Falcone and the Palermo
Convention to fight transnational organized crime.
