Anthony Terlato triumphs as inaugural Pinot Noir yields sublime results in
2007 vintage

HEALDSBURG, Calif., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Terlato family announces the
inaugural vintage of Terlato Family Vineyards Pinot Noir, heralding from The
Russian River Valley. This 2007 Pinot Noir is Burgundian in style with an
elusive aroma of violets, raspberries and strawberries and a light, nicely
acidic balance.

Pinot Noir has long been one of the most popular wines in the world and has
been in production in France for centuries. In recent years, the U.S. has
become a major producer. While sales of Pinot Noir surged after the 2004
release of the movie "Sideways," it continues to grow in popularity in the
U.S. following a current trend towards lighter, less alcoholic wines. "That's
the mystique about Pinot Noir. It looks kind of like a dark Rose yet it has
this incredible intensity of flavor," says Doug Fletcher, Vice President of
Winemaking for the Terlato Wine Group. "The Terlato 2007 Pinot Noir has an
indescribable deliciousness that you don't find in many Pinot Noirs." The
Russian River Valley is uniquely suited to the challenging yet rewarding Pinot
Noir grape, known among winemakers as the "Heartbreak Grape." Its cool
climate and evening fog allow for an extended growing season and the
opportunity for Pinot Noir to reach its full flavor potential.

Long considered the "Father of Pinot Grigio," Anthony Terlato launched a
Russian River Valley Pinot Grigio as the first wine under his new eponymous
label. With this inaugural vintage of the Terlato Family Vineyards Pinot
Noir, the promise of the Russian River Valley has been fulfilled.
