May 28 (Reuters) - Japan Tobacco Inc (2914.T), the world's third-largest cigarette maker, plans to issue about 100 billion yen ($1.05 billion) in straight bonds soon, the Nikkei business daily reported.

The bonds will carry a coupon rate of around 1.05 percent and mature after five years, the paper said.

The company plans to use the proceeds to refinance the 150 billion yen in bonds maturing next month, Nikkei said.
