LONDON, May 27 (Reuters) - Scottish authorities have rejected an appeal for a new wind farm to be built by Novera Energy Ltd NOEN.L, the renewable energy company said on Wednesday.

Novera said the rejection of the proposed three-turbine, 6 megawatt Mountboy Wind Farm in Angus, eastern Scotland, followed a public hearing.

Shares in Novera, which have gained 20 percent over the last month, fell as much as 7 percent following the statement and were down 5.4 percent at 44 pence at 1500 GMT.

Novera owns 58 sites, generating 148 megawatts of power from renewable sources. (Reporting by Victoria Bryan; Editing by Paul Sandle)
