Qantas CEO sees early signs of pick-up in China

MELBOURNE May 27 (Reuters) - Qantas Airways Ltd (QAN.AX), Australia's biggest airline, is seeing early signs of a pick-up in China's air freight business, Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce told a business lunch on Wednesday.

Qantas last month forecast that it would report a loss in the second half of the 2009 financial year as it battled a drop in passenger demand and rising competition. (Reporting by Simone Giuliani; Editing by Mark Bendeich)
