Silicon Valley Leaders to Speak at Santa Clara University`s Commencement Ceremonies

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Two Silicon Valley leaders known for their success in the business arena and
with their philanthropic work will speak at Santa Clara University`s
undergraduate and graduate ceremonies. 

Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony

John Chambers, Cisco System`s Chairman and CEO, will deliver the commencement
speech for Santa Clara University`s undergraduate class of 2009 on Saturday,
June 13 at 8:30 a.m. at Buck Shaw Stadium. 

Chambers joined Cisco in January 1991 as senior vice president of Worldwide
Sales and Operations. He became president and CEO in 1995 and then chairman in
2006. Chambers has helped turn Cisco from a $70 million company in 1991 to its
current $40 billion in revenue. He`s also received top awards for his executive
leadership, commitment to corporate social responsibility, and active role in

Graduate Commencement Ceremony

Founding eBay President Jeffrey Skoll will address SCU`s graduate students on
Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Leavey Event Center. 

From his start at eBay, Skoll has had a track record of launching businesses
that result in positive social change. At eBay, he developed the business plan
that the company still follows today, creating entrepreneurial opportunities for
individuals around the world. In 1998, he inspired the company to take an active
role in philanthropy, pioneering creation of the eBay Foundation through the
allocation of pre-IPO shares. This innovation sparked similar initiatives by
other young companies in high-technology hubs across the United States. Skoll is
