LOS ANGELES--(Business Wire)--
The First American Corporation (NYSE:FAF) and its Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer, Parker S. Kennedy, were sued in Los Angeles today over their alleged
misconduct in connection with a business venture aimed at revolutionizing the
commercial real estate market via technology. RE3W, Inc. et al. v. The First
American Corporation et al., Superior Court of Los Angeles - Central District.

In the Complaint, filed in California state court this morning, the Plaintiffs
allege that First American and Kennedy purposely engaged in unlawful acts in an
effort to enrich themselves and misappropriate vital technology from their
business partners, RE3W, Inc. and RE3W Worldwide. The Plaintiffs further allege
that First American and Kennedy breached numerous fiduciary duties owed RE3W as
a result of their business dealings which began in 2000. At that time, Kennedy
touted the venture with RE3W as an exciting business opportunity for First
American. The Plaintiffs are seeking to recover in excess of $75 million as
compensation for their damages, as well as punitive damages in an amount
sufficient to punish First American and Kennedy and deter them from engaging in
similar conduct in the future.

"We believe the conduct of First American and Mr. Kennedy was unlawful and
driven by greed," stated attorney John C. O`Malley of Eagan O`Malley & Avenatti,
LLP, the law firm representing the Plaintiffs. "We look forward to presenting
this case to a jury as soon as possible so that they may send a message that
this conduct is unacceptable."
