Francisco Ascencion Named President, Bausch & Lomb Japan

TOKYO, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Bausch & Lomb Japan has named Francisco
Ascencion as president, effective immediately. Mr. Ascension has been serving
as interim president since mid-January.

Mr. Ascencion joined Bausch & Lomb in 2003 in the Corporate Audit Group. In
2004, he was named director of finance and operations for the company's
Mexican and Latin American Distributors businesses. In 2006, he was appointed
controller of Bausch & Lomb Japan. Prior to joining Bausch & Lomb, he worked
for Valeo Electrical Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coopers & Lybrand.

well suited to this role. During his brief time as interim president, he has
already implemented a series of important organizational and structural

Mr. Ascencion holds a degree in Strategic Administration from the Instituto
Tecnologico de Estudios Monterrey (ITESM) and obtained his CPA from the
National Autonomous University of Mexico.
