Microsoft demonstrates new technology for health plans aimed at increasing
customer satisfaction and driving new business opportunities.

SAN DIEGO, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 
    What:   At America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Institute 2009,
            Microsoft Corp. will showcase solutions designed for the health
            plans industry, such as these:

            * Driving business performance with Microsoft business
              intelligence and collaboration platforms

                processes when responding to proposals and processing claims.
                Microsoft will demonstrate how Microsoft Office SharePoint

            * Improving customer experience with Microsoft unified
              communications

              - Microsoft's unified communications suite enables health
                plans to offer chat-based conversations with their members,
                conducted virtually or with a live agent, allowing
                consumers to communicate using their own words. Microsoft
                will demonstrate technology such as its Consumer Engagement
                Reference Architecture (CERA) that enables users to better
                connect with consumers to keep them engaged in their own
                health, and unified communications and Tellme voice-enabled
                solutions.

            * Accelerate innovation and process improvement with the
              Microsoft Connected Health Framework

              - Health plan business managers can significantly accelerate
                innovation by reducing the complexity and cost of analyzing
                and improving business and care processes. This
                demonstration features the Microsoft Connected Health
                Framework, an open, service-oriented architecture that
                enables health plans to cut costs and business complexities.

            prepare for the upcoming changes to HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10,
            highlighting several early adopters' solutions on the Microsoft
