Coolibar Dramatically Improves E-commerce Transaction Speeds Using Web
Performance Management Solutions from Gomez

Reduces Duration of Seven Step Web Transaction by 50 Percent

LEXINGTON, Mass., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Coolibar, the nation's leading UPF
apparel manufacturer, has significantly enhanced the speed of shopping on its
Web site by using Web application performance management solutions from Gomez,
Inc. (www.gomez.com), the leader in Web application experience management.
Since deploying Gomez's solutions, Coolibar has cut in half the time it takes
for a customer to complete a seven step product search, shopping cart and
checkout transaction on its Web site.

Like many e-commerce sites, Coolibar uses multiple third party services for
functions like shopping cart, search, analytics and content delivery. When
the company made the decision to move its infrastructure to its own servers,
it brought in Gomez's solutions to help closely monitor the transition of its
complex environment and provide visibility to any performance or availability
issues.

Coolibar uses Gomez's active monitoring solution to run scheduled tests of its
transactions 24 hours a day from specific locations on the Internet backbone.
By measuring from the "outside-in," Coolibar collects precise data about site
availability and response times, helping it to identify and quickly
troubleshoot performance issues before they escalate and jeopardize
conversions.

Additionally, Coolibar deployed Gomez's real-user, passive monitoring solution
which allows it to measure its customers' experiences in real-time as they
visit and interact with the Coolibar Web site. Using the data collected,
Coolibar can instantly see the impact of performance on their customers'
behavior, like abandoning a checkout or a product search. By understanding
which user segments are being affected by performance issues, Coolibar can
better prioritize troubleshooting and track the results.

"As we started reducing the number of hosts and connections, it was paramount
that we could monitor our most important Web pages and transactions to ensure
that they performed properly for our customers," said Alan Higley, VP
Marketing at Coolibar. "Gomez's Web performance monitoring not only provided
a 360 degree perspective of our site's performance during this transition but
also helped us achieve a 50 percent reduction in the duration of our most
important seven step transaction."

"The combination of using active, synthetic monitoring and real-user
monitoring provides a comprehensive view of a Web site, revealing how a
business' Web pages and transactions perform from the most important
perspective: the customers'," said Matt Poepsel, Gomez's VP of Performance
Strategies. "You can't do this by monitoring from inside your firewall.
After all, you cannot fix what you cannot see."
