WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Ronald M. Johnson, a nationally prominent labor and employment lawyer
representing railroads in litigation and regulatory matters, has joined the
Washington Office as a partner. Mr. Johnson comes from the Washington office of
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and is the sixth lateral partner to join Jones
Day's Labor & Employment Practice since March of 2008, and the third labor and
employment partner to join the Washington Office since that time.

"Besides adding significantly to our growing transportation industry
capabilities, Ron's arrival brings added breadth and depth to what has long been
one of the strongest labor and employment practices in the District and the
nation," said Mary Ellen Powers, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Washington
Office. "We're very happy to have him."

Mr. Johnson is one of the leading Railway Labor Act practitioners in the country
and has represented Class I, regional, and shortline railroad employers in
proceedings before the Surface Transportation Board (formerly ICC), DOT, OSHA,
the National Mediation Board and the NLRB. He has argued dozens of federal
appellate matters, including a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Ron brings outstanding skills to our Labor & Employment Practice, making our
capabilities broader and our strength even deeper. " said Larry DiNardo, chair
of Jones Day's Labor & Employment Practice. "We take tremendous pride in our
ability to attract world-class professionals to Jones Day and are excited by the
additional ways we can serve our clients."

Before entering private practice, Mr. Johnson was a staff counsel to the U.S.
Senate Commerce Committee and served as legislative assistant to the Committee's
ranking Republican member. He received his B.A. in 1973 and his J.D. in 1976
from the University of Kansas.

Jones Day is an international law firm with 32 locations in centers of business
and finance throughout the world. With more than 2,400 lawyers, including more
than 400 in Europe, and 200 in Asia, it ranks among the world's largest law
firms. Jones Day acts as principal outside counsel to, or provides significant
legal representation for, more than half of the Fortune Global 500 companies.
Jones Day established its Washington Office in 1946. Today, about 220 lawyers
practicing in the antitrust, business practice, government regulation,
intellectual property, labor & employment, litigation and tax areas are housed
in a historic office building across the street from the U.S. Capitol.
