Widely considered to be the finest high-end automotive cruise in the world,
the HOT ROD Magazine Power Tour(R) is presented by GM Performance Division.
The overnight stop at Metro Beach Metropark in Mount Clemens on the seven-day,
seven-city tour is sponsored by the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau
and is expected to generate more than $165,000 in room revenue for Sterling
Heights and Warren area hotels and tens of thousands of dollars more in food,
beverage and entertainment spending.

"When we discovered the opportunity to co-sponsor this marquee event for auto
enthusiasts, we jumped at it because of the positive national visibility for
our region and the chance to generate significant revenue in our local
economy," said Christopher Baum, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau. "This event is
particularly timely now as it coincides with the start of filming of the
13-episode TV series "Monster Garage Motor City," which will return to the
Discovery Channel in October. Both events are great opportunities to showcase
that metro Detroit is still the automotive capital of the world."

The HOT ROD Power Tour(R) begins on June 6 and will wind its way through the
Midwest, creating a nationwide buzz in the automotive enthusiast market. Other
participating cities are Madison and Racine, Wisconsin; South Bend, Indiana;
Dayton, Ohio; Somerset, Kentucky; and Bristol, Tennessee.

The Power Tour will make its stop in The D on Tuesday, June 9 at Metro Beach
Metropark in Macomb County (www.metroparks.com). Car buffs with all makes of
hot rods, muscle cars and collector vehicles will be along for the ride. Those

public with $4 park admission.

Following the cruise, Baum urges spectators to drive on over to the Warren
City Square on Van Dyke, north of 12 Mile Road, for the "Rock & Rods" Concert
and Car Show, featuring The Twistin' Tarantulas. This post-cruise event is
free to the public and runs from 8-10:30 p.m. Along with no-admission charge,
there will also be special parking for classic cars, muscle cars and hot rods.
So bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy an evening of "rock and rods!"
