Jire Baran Joins Alger as Vice President, Regional Marketing Manager

NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Fred Alger & Company, Incorporated ("Alger"),
parent company of Fred Alger Management, Inc., a leading asset management
firm, today announced the hiring of Jire Baran as Vice President, Regional
Marketing Manager for Alger covering Southern California. In his new role,
Jire will lead Alger's effort to service and expand existing relationships as
well as develop new relationships with financial advisers in this important
region.

Jire has 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to
joining Alger, he was a Regional Vice President with AllianceBernstein
Investments; before that, he worked for Natixis Global Associates. He is a
graduate of Tufts University, was awarded his CFA in 2005, and is a member of
the CFA Society of Los Angeles, Inc.
