Agreement is an Innovative Way for Local and State Governments, Corporations and
Consumers to Participate in the Construction of New Renewable Energy Facilities
in the United States
NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
EcoMedia, a leading environmental media company, and EarthEra, an initiative of
NextEra Energy Resources, the largest producer of wind and solar energy in North
America, today announced a strategic alliance that delivers immediate, tangible
solutions to help cities achieve their Climate Action Plans.

EcoMedia offers a unique product known as "carbon offset advertising" where
corporate clients buy television, radio, print and outdoor advertising and
EcoMedia dedicates a portion of the advertising spend to fund energy efficiency
retrofits and on-site renewable energy in municipal buildings. EarthEra will
augment the EcoMedia program by supplying carbon dioxide offsets to further
mitigate the carbon impact of the remaining energy use from municipal
activities. One hundred percent of the funds received from EcoMedia to purchase
the CO2 offsets will be directed to the EarthEra Renewable Energy Trust, which
commits to build new renewable energy projects in the United States.

"Through our innovative business model, a company`s advertising spend now has
the ability to stimulate our green economy, reduce energy costs for cities and
lower CO2 emissions," said Paul Polizzotto, founder and CEO of EcoMedia. "Our
collaboration with EarthEra guarantees our advertising partners that the CO2
offsets from their ad spend are funding new renewable energy projects in the
U.S. and are having a direct impact on the environment."

The strategic alliance provides the infrastructure for EcoMedia and EarthEra to
deliver a nationwide program that bonds city governments and businesses together
in a public-private partnership to participate in the acceleration of clean
renewable energy projects and to reduce CO2 emissions in the communities they
serve. EcoMedia and EarthEra are encouraging mayors and businesses nationwide to
urgently address local Climate Action Plans, participate in the construction of
new renewable energy facilities and be part of the domestic energy solution.

"EarthEra adds a new dimension to EcoMedia`s program," said Mark Maisto,
president of Commodities and Retail Markets for NextEra Energy Resources. "As a
nation, we need to build more renewable energy facilities, and the EarthEra
Trust allows EcoMedia's community partners to directly participate in building a
clean energy future."

About EcoMedia

EcoMedia is the world's premier environmental media company, dedicated to
innovative marketing and media programs that reach target consumers while
generating the resources to help the public tackle critical environmental
challenges. Founded in 2002, EcoMedia has created a form of carbon offset
advertising for clients to buy television, radio, print and outdoor advertising
and have a portion of their ad spend fund solar installations, energy efficiency
retrofits and on-site renewable energy for cities across the U.S. to help
fulfill their local Climate Action Plans. Through a strategic alliance with
EarthEra, EcoMedia offers its advertising and local government partners the
ability to offset their carbon footprint and then delivers 100 percent of funds
to the construction of new wind and solar projects in the United States. All
projects are approved and overseen by the EcoMedia Advisory Board, made up of
environmental leaders such as EPA's Energy Star and the U.S. Green Building
Council, in cooperation with mayors and other local officials. For more
