Schaeffer's Option Blog: Nokia (NOK) Sees Spike in Option Trading

CINCINNATI--(Business Wire)-- Nokia (NYSE: NOK) was the center of some heavy option trading on Friday, as more than 37,300 contracts crossed the tape. This volume is nearly three times the equity's average daily trading volume of 13,184 contracts, according to data from WhatsTrading.com. Drilling down on the action, we find that the June 15 put added more than 5,000 new positions, pushing the open interest up to 13,548 contracts. At 3:37 p.m. Eastern time, a block of 2,400 contracts changed hands at a bid price of $0.45. At roughly 2:09 p.m., two large blocks totaling 2,400 contracts traded at a bid price of $0.45.
