Commission Recommends Companies Receive Lease of State EBS Spectrum to Deliver
WiMAX Broadband Services throughout South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C.--(Business Wire)--
Clearwire Corporation (NASDAQ:CLWR) and DigitalBridge Communications today
applauded the recommendation of the South Carolina Educational Broadband Service
Commission to grant spectrum leases to both companies in order to deliver
wireless broadband services across the state of South Carolina.

"We fully support the Commission`s recommendation as this is a significant step
towards delivering next-generation wireless broadband services throughout South
Carolina," said Gerry Salemme, Executive Vice President of Strategy, Policy and
External Affairs for Clearwire. "We hope to have the opportunity to serve the
citizens and communities of South Carolina by offering competitive and
differentiated mobile broadband services."

"We, too, appreciate the Commission`s foresight, and are excited to have the
opportunity to partner with Clearwire to provide state of the art broadband
services that leverage the strengths of both companies and generate significant
benefits for the people of South Carolina," said Kelley Dunne, CEO of
DigitalBridge Communications.

Under the plan recommended by the South Carolina Educational Broadband Service
Commission, Clearwire would lease approximately 75% of the available spectrum
assets and serve primarily urban parts of the state, while DigitalBridge
Communications (DBC) would lease 25% and serve primarily rural markets. After a
review by the Joint Bond Review Committee, the State Budget and Control Board
will consider the commission's proposal for approval in June.

Clearwire currently offers mobile WiMAX services, called CLEAR, in select
markets in the United States and plans to deploy service in 80 markets covering
up to 120 million people by the end of 2010.

The successful completion of the lease agreement would supplement Clearwire and
DBC's existing spectrum holdings in South Carolina and facilitate a broader
deployment of WiMAX across the state.
