Doug Harrison receives Austin award from Ernst & Young NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas--(Business Wire)-- CEO, Founder and President of The SCOOTER Store Doug Harrison received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Award in the other/healthcare category in Austin. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Harrison was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Hilton Downtown Austin last Thursday. Harrison founded America`s leading supplier of scooters and power chairs for people with limited mobility in 1991 with his wife Susanna. Under his leadership, the company has grown from one small store in New Braunfels, Texas, to a multi-million dollar company with more than 2,000 employees in 48 states plus Puerto Rico that has changed the lives of more than 400,000 customers.
