DALLAS--(Business Wire)--
Energy Transfer Technologies, Ltd. announced today it has received the 2009
Texas Environmental Excellence Award. The Texas Environmental Excellence Award
recognizes the use of innovative technology to reduce pollution and is presented
by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, on behalf of the Texas Senate
and House of Representatives.

Energy Transfer Technologies provides a "dual drive" compression concept whereby
a combination of gas engines and electric motors are used to move natural gas
through pipelines, drastically reducing both emissions and operating costs. The
transporting of natural gas through pipelines requires significant amounts of
energy that has historically been provided by natural gas fired engines.

Energy Transfer`s ESelect Dual Drive patented technology allows its compressors
to switch between gas and electricity in response to changes in demand for
electricity. The compressors, which run mainly on electricity, switch to gas
engines during peak demand times to help avoid the need to add generating
capacity. For each 1,500 horsepower Dual Drive running on electricity there can
be up to a 95 percent reduction in exhaust emissions along with reductions in
noise, waste oil and coolant usage. The same technology can be applied to other
industries that pump fluids such as municipal water systems.

"We`re very proud to accept this award that recognizes our efforts to increase
our industry`s efficiency and take better care of our environment," said Raymond
Herpers, Energy Transfer Technologies chief executive officer. "We believe our
patented technology can have a significant impact in both of these very
important areas."

Energy Transfer Technologies, Ltd. is a Dallas-based private company. The
company leases and services Dual Drive gas compression equipment ranging from
1,500 to 5,000 horsepower for gathering and midstream pipeline clients.
