Simmons Bedding Company Meets Conditions For Extension of Forbearance
Agreement With Senior Bank Lenders to June 30, 2009

ATLANTA, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Simmons Bedding Company ("Simmons Bedding"), a
subsidiary of Simmons Company ("Simmons" or the "Company") and a leading
manufacturer of premium-branded bedding products, confirmed today that it has
met the conditions required to extend the senior bank lenders' forbearance
period to June 30, 2009.  The Company announced on May 27, 2009 that the
senior bank lenders' agreement to the extension was subject to Simmons meeting
certain conditions, including continued progress in its restructuring efforts,
by June 8, 2009. 

As previously announced, Simmons's forbearance agreement with the majority of
the holders of its $200.0 million 7.875% senior subordinated notes has also
been extended to June 30, 2009.  Both agreements still include an option to
further extend the forbearance periods through July 31, 2009 under certain
conditions.
