HACKENSACK, NJ and BEIJING, Jun 01 (MARKET WIRE) --
Vidyo(R) Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today
announced that the company and its products have been given China
Compulsory Certification (CCC), having passed inspection and evaluation
of the CCC system. The China Compulsory Certificate mark, commonly known
as CCC Mark, is a compulsory safety mark for many products sold on the
Chinese market.
Vidyo's HD Room and Desktop "VidyoConferencing(TM)" system will be
officially launched at an event being held on June 2, 2009, at the
Swissotel Beijing. Vidyo's Vice President and General Manager of Asia
Pacific Region, Alfred Hui, will present a keynote speech, "The Next
Generation of Encoding and Decoding Technologies on Video Conferencing in
China" at the Event (Conference Room One, 2-5 pm).
"China is a perfect market for personal telepresence," said Alfred Hui.
"Given the large distances and long travel times, VidyoConferencing
enables anyone to participate in multi-party meetings whether they are in
the office or working remotely over converged IP networks such as the
Internet."
The CCC System in China
China Compulsory Certification System, also known as CCC or 3C, is China's
statutory compulsory safety and quality certification system for products
sold in the Chinese market. The CCC system came into force as of May 1,
2002, to replace the original Quality License System for Commodity
Inspection and Safety Certification System for Electrical Equipment. The
CCC mark is administered by the CNCA (Certification and Accreditation
Administration of China). The certification process usually takes sixty to
ninety days and includes the multiple steps in which the product is
inspected and evaluated.
