* HPCL buys July Escravos cargo from Unipec via tender

* Traders assess Escravos at around dated Brent plus $1

LONDON, June 1 (Reuters) - India's Hindustan Petroleum Corp (HPCL.BO), bought one cargo of Nigerian Escravos crude oil late last week via its regular monthly tender for sweet crude, traders said on Monday. India's country's third-largest state-owned refiner bought the cargo from trader Unipec. No price details were available but the grade was assessed by traders at dated Brent plus $1.

The cargo was expected to be loaded on July 19/20.

Last week, HPCL scrapped a first tender for July sweet crude due to high offer prices.

The refiner bought 1 million barrels of Angolan Plutonio crude from European major in its tender for June-loading crude.

HPCL has the capacity to process 260,000 bpd of crude oil.
