DOHA, June 1 (Reuters) - Qatar should diversify its investments away from the U.S. dollar to avoid the impact of further declines in the greenback, the economic adviser to the emir said on Monday.

"I think we should be worried about it (dollar weakness) and we should be ready for it," Ibrahim al-Ibrahim, who also heads the General Secretariat for Development Planning of Qatar, told reporters at an economic conference.

"We want to make sure we diversify our investments ... diversifying investments in different countries with different currencies." (Reporting by Dania Saadi; Editing by Victoria Main)
