Woodside: Pluto construction 65 pct complete

DARWIN, June 2 (Reuters) - Construction of the A$12 billion ($9.7 billion) Pluto gas project off Australia's west coast was about 65 percent complete at the end of May, project operator Woodside Petroleum Ltd's (WPL.AX) Chief Executive Don Voelte said on Tuesday.

Voelte made the remarks in a speech at an energy conference.

First liquefied natural gas production from Pluto is expected in late 2010. (Reporting by James Regan)
