Combination Drives Customer Success by Providing Unique Content Discovery and
Brand Protection Capabilities Across Online Communities
EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Today Lithium Technologies, the leading provider of on-demand customer community
solutions for the enterprise, announced that it has acquired Keibi Technologies,
Inc., the leader in automated content discovery, analysis, and moderation for
online communities. The acquisition extends Lithium`s lead in delivering highly
successful communities by giving brands the power to immediately discover,
analyze, and moderate user-generated content of all kinds that might impact
their brands on the web.

Keibi`s technology adds to the Lithium application a content analysis platform
proven at popular social networking sites like Bebo, Inc., a wholly owned
subsidiary of AOL LLC, as well as with leading global brands, including the
world`s largest beverage company. Keibi`s engine quickly processes large volumes
of user-generated content - including text, images, animations, and video. A
patented process measures and scores content across multiple dimensions, helping
brand managers discover content that demands their immediate attention or that
provides deeper insight into their customers` behavior.

"The largest companies in the world now use social media every day to engage
with their customers, but protecting their brands remains a pressing concern,"
said Lyle Fong, CEO of Lithium Technologies. "This technology augments our
market-leading moderation services by automating the content analysis process,
ensuring that inappropriate material doesn`t damage a customer`s brand, while
simultaneously enabling marketers to focus on engaging with customers and
deriving critical metrics and insights from their interactions."

According to a Forrester Research report published in January of this year
titled Developing a Content Moderation System, "Content moderation is one of the
most important and potentially time-consuming aspects of managing a social

Lithium has an eight-year track record of delivering successful enterprise
communities leveraging moderation expertise and a rigorous, metrics-driven
approach - capped by the February launch of the Community Health Index, the
industry`s first objective measure of community success. Keibi`s technology will
build on this leadership by adding new tools for measuring the quality of users`
content and engaging effectively with community members. With this acquisition,
Lithium becomes the only enterprise community provider to combine an
enterprise-class SaaS technology platform, automated content moderation and
discovery, and expert community management services.

"No company we`ve worked with has Lithium`s depth of understanding of online
enterprise communities, so we`re delighted to join them," said Pierre Grenier,
Keibi`s founder. "Our platform is an essential component of some of the largest
social web communities, so we bring a deep understanding of that world to
Lithium. Our combined solution can ensure success for enterprise community
deployments today, and will advance the state of the art for analysis of user
generated content on the web."

"Over the past two years, we`ve seen online communities become critical to
companies` relationships with their customers," said CEO Lyle Fong. "As that
happens, capabilities for brand protection, measurement, and active engagement
have become critical for effective partnership with enterprise customers. In
both R&D and services, we`ve been acknowledged as leaders in these areas. This
acquisition will advance those efforts and open up new frontiers for our
