US consumer confidence falls in latest week-ABC

 NEW YORK, June 2 (Reuters) - ABC News said on Tuesday its
weekly index on U.S. consumer confidence, after reaching a
seven-month high in early May, fell in the latest week. The
Consumer Comfort Index dropped to -49 from -47 the prior week.
 The index ranges from -100 to +100, and reached a record
low of -54, reached in the week to Dec. 1, 2008 and again in
the week ended Jan. 25, 2009.

 The ABC News consumer confidence survey was based on a
sample of about 1,000 interviews conducted in the four weeks
ending May 31 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3
percentage points.
