UPDATE 1-Victory Nickel to build road to Lac Rocher site

TORONTO, June 3 (Reuters) - Victory Nickel Inc (NI.TO) said on Wednesday it has signed a letter of intent with Manchetau Construction to build a road to its Lac Rocher nickel project in northern Quebec.

The company said the all-weather road would provide year-round access to the mine and allow it to further develop the project.

Toronto-based Victory said the road would extend its exploration season, allowing it to evaluate identified exploration targets in a more cost-effective manner.

Victory has four nickel deposits, three of which are in Manitoba, with the fourth project in Quebec. It also holds about 9 percent of Wallbridge Mining Co (WM.TO), which owns land in northern Ontario's mineral-rich Sudbury Basin. (Reporting by Nina Lex; editing by Rob Wilson)
