MADRID, June 4 (Reuters) - Spanish conglomerate Acciona (ANA.MC) will present a new strategic plan in September after it boosts renewable energy operations and sells a non-core business this summer, Chairman Jose Manuel Entrecanales said on Thursday.

Acciona will receive over two-thirds of core earnings from energy in 2009 and hopes to expand its water business internationally to offset shrinking margins at its construction business, the company said at its annual shareholders' meeting.

"We will have (the new strategic plan) ready in the first two weeks of July," said Entrecanales, but noted that mid-summer is not a good time to present a new strategy to investors.

Acciona will probably sell one of the non-core businesses not included in its energy, water management and construction profile before July, but Entrecanales could not provide further details on the possible sale.

Over 80 percent of Acciona's core earnings came from energy in 2008, most being dividends from the company's 25 percent stake in electricity utility Endesa (ELE.MC), which it sold in a cash and assets deal earlier this year.

The deal, which helped Acciona cut its debt by a third, also added 2,105 MW of wind power onto its books, making it the second-largest wind power generator in the world after Spain's Iberdrola (IBE.MC).

At 1243 GMT, Acciona stock was up 0.44 percent, outperforming a 0.08 percent fall in Spain's IBEX-35 .IBEX leading share index. (Reporting by Andres Gonzalez, writing by Jonathan Gleave; editing by Rupert Winchester)
