Thai Hot Stocks-Telecom firms, Somboon Advance, Siamgas up

 BANGKOK, June 8 (Reuters) - Thailand's benchmark stock
index .SETI was down 1.45 percent at 595.54 points at 0828
GMT on Monday, dragged down by petrochemical, energy and bank
stocks.
 Stocks on the move included:
 SIAMGAS SGP.BK HITS 9-MONTH HIGH ON OUTLOOK
 Thailand's number two liquefied petroleum gas firm rose as
much as 3.2 percent to a nine-month high of 6.45 baht,
outperforming other energy firms which fell nearly one percent.
 The company said it expected a 15 percent rise in 2009
earnings, higher than analysts' forecasts, as rising oil prices
push consumers to alternative fuels. [nBKK480409]

 TELECOMS SECTOR .SETIC OUTPERFORMS MAIN INDEX
 The telecoms sector rose more than 3 percent, outperforming
the broader index, as investors snapped up laggard stocks after
the market's recent rally.
 Top mobile phone operator Advanced Info Service ADVA.BK
(AIS) edged up 3.4 percent to 83.75 baht, its highest since
March 30. Number two Total Access Communication DTAC.BK
surged 6.25 percent to a three-month high of 29.75 baht.
 True Corp TRUE.BK climbed 3.77 percent to 2.20 baht, its
highest since October 2008.
 The sector is trading at 9.09 times the median
price-to-earning ratio, compared with 11.92 of the main SET
index, according to Reuters data.

 SOMBOON ADVANCE SAT.BK UP ON A BROKER UPGRADE
 The auto parts producer jumped 15 percent to 6.40 baht, its
highest since November 2008, after broker Kiatnakin Securities
raised its recommendation on the stock to "hold" from "sell".
 Kiatnakin said it expected the domestic auto industry to
recover in the second half of this year.

 CHAROEN POKAPHAND FOODS CPF.BK RISES ON PROFIT OUTLOOK
 Thailand's top chicken exporter rose more than two percent
to 4.52 baht, its highest since May 15.
 CPF said on Friday its 2009 net profit would exceed the 3.1
billion baht ($91 million) it earned last year, and it expected
to pay a higher dividend in 2009 compared to a year ago.

 ENERGY STOCKS .SETEN DOWN AFTER RECENT RALLY
 PTT Exploration and Production PCL PTTE.BK, the most
active stock, fell 1.77 percent to 139 baht. Top oil and gas
firm PTT PCL PTT.BK dropped 0.9 percent to 229 baht, while
refiner Thai Oil TOP.BK edged down 0.6 percent to 41.75 baht.
Coal miner Banpu BANP.BK eased 0.30 to 345 baht.

 BANK STOCKS .SETB DOWN AFTER LAST WEEK'S GAINS
 Bank stocks .SETB dropped 0.9 percent, led by a 1.5
percent drop at Bangkok Bank BBL.BK to 100.50 baht. Number
two Krung Thai Bank KTB.BK fell 1.21 percent to 8.15 baht.
 Siam Commercial Bank SCB.BK fell 0.96 percent to 77 baht,
while Kasikornbank KBAN.BK dipped 0.36 percent to 68.50 baht.
