COPENHAGEN, June 10 | Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:19am EDT

COPENHAGEN, June 10 (Reuters) - Danish brewer Carlsberg (CARLb.CO) on Wednesday said its Norwegian subsidiary Ringnes had finalised an agreement to sell a majority stake in its Arendal brewery.

Carlsberg said in a statement it finalised the deal to sell the Arendal unit, one of three breweries run by Carlsberg in Norway, to local investors, effective July 1.

The international brewer did not disclose the value of the transaction, but said it would keep a 20 percent minority stake in Arendal.

"The sale of Arendal will increase the efficiency of Ringnes' production structure," Carlsberg said.
