IOSCO-Goldman Sachs CEO urges convergence of rules

TEL AVIV, June 9 (Reuters) - The chief executive of Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N) urged a convergence of rules around the world.

"You don't want regulatory arbitrage," Lloyd Blankfein said at an international securities conference.

Blankfein also said if central banks increased interest rates, capital requirements should also be raised.

"In frothy environments, one side of the house could be raising interest rates and the other side is raising capital requirements," he said. "I think those are parallel things." (Reporting by Steven Scheer and Rachelle Younglai, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
