AKRON, OH, Jun 10 (MARKET WIRE) --
Classic Motorcar Auctions is pleased to announce the Ohio Summer Classic
Car Auction will be held August 29th and 30th at the John S. Knight Center
in downtown Akron, Ohio.

This auction, the first classic/collectible event of its kind held in
Ohio, will boast more than 250 classic vehicles ranging from Model Ts to
the cars of the '60s and '70s. Classic cars already consigned include
vintage Mercedes, Jaguars, Cadillacs, Packards and Pierce-Arrows. This is
a landmark event for Ohio and the classic car hobby. Public classic car
consignment auctions of this caliber (common to venues such as Scottsdale,
Palm Beach, Pebble Beach, London and Toronto) were previously banned in
Ohio. Classic Motorcar Auctions is delighted to bring the excitement of a
nationally significant high-end classic car auction to Ohio.

"It will be exciting to have a classic car sale of this magnitude in
Northern Ohio. It will be much like what you have seen on national
television," said Bob Lichty, President of Classic Motorcar Auctions. He
continued, "To be able to bring buyer and seller together in our area is
phenomenal."

Spotlighting the fabulous fifties is one of the feature cars, a 1958
Chevrolet Impala convertible. Having completed a frame-up restoration,
the car is finished in stunning Rio red with a coordinating tri-tone
(gray/black/red) interior. It is powered by the desirable 348 cubic inch
V-8 engine (250hp) with 4-barrel carburetor. The car includes many luxury
extras of the era including power steering, power brakes, dual antennas,
fender skirts and chrome side ports.

Classic Motorcar Auctions is also featuring an ultra-rare 1963 Ford
Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop Curtis Turner USAC racecar. The car is fueled
by the powerful professionally built and tested 427 cubic inch side oiler
V8 developing over 460 horsepower backed by a 4-speed racing
transmission. The car is completely race ready and includes Holman-Moody
suspension, full roll cage, extra racing wheels and authentic racing
helmet. The car has raced in the vintage NASCAR exhibition circuit at
several tracks including Daytona, Charlotte, Darlington, and New
Hampshire.

Classic car market conditions have improved over the past several months.
In many ways classic automobiles parallel market trends for tangible
investments such as precious metals, art, and antiques. The likelihood of
further inflation as our country rebounds from the recession ensures that
collector car values will continue to rise.

Additionally the auction will offer a large assortment of automobilia to
open the sale each day. Expect to find your favorites including tin signs,
toys, petrolania, antique gas pumps and the like. For information on how
to consign your special item or to bid, please call Classic Motorcar
Auctions toll free at 1.866.653.8900.

apply to those who consign or register to bid by July 1st. Participants

Due to our rich pocket of car enthusiasts in this area, many vendors in
the classic car hobby, both locally and nationally, will be on hand to
display and demonstrate their wares. And, in addition to classic car
related businesses, lifestyle vendors including art, jewelry, and fashion
will also be on hand.

The Ohio Summer Classic Car Auction weekend opens to the public both
Saturday and Sunday (August 29th and 30th) at 9am for your previewing,
with the memorabilia auction beginning at 11am and classic cars at noon.
Spectator admission will be $15 Saturday, $20 for a weekend pass or $10
for Sunday only. Free parking is available on the street or adjoining
parking deck after 5pm Friday through the weekend.
