New AT&T Telepresence Solution features include multi-point encryption for
greater security
DALLAS, June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Telepresence Solution users
will now be able to conduct meetings that are encrypted for business and
security reasons, share videos and control who joins a call, thanks to a suite
of new features announced by AT&T*. These additional capabilities represent
the latest milestone in AT&T's efforts to provide businesses with powerful and
cost-effective collaboration tools that improve productivity while helping
decrease costs such as business travel.
AT&T now offers encryption between Cisco TelePresence(TM) endpoints in
point-to-point or multi-point business to business meetings. Users of the AT&T
Business Exchange can establish encrypted connections with the
intercompany-enabled Cisco TelePresence endpoints deployed worldwide. The
encryption status for all rooms is indicated on-screen at the start of a call
and on the phone at all times, providing meeting participants with real-time
status.
Since early 2008, AT&T and Cisco have collaborated to enable the growth and
use of Cisco TelePresence technology and services among businesses and
organizations. Today's announcement marks the latest innovations available to
global companies using the AT&T Telepresence Solution.
AT&T Telepresence Solution now also offers the following capabilities:
-- Enhanced Conference Controls: users can now select the way they see
speaking participants displayed through an easy-to-use interface on
their Cisco IP phone. In addition, participants in the meeting room
can
control access to the meeting by blocking additional endpoints from
joining an established call.
-- Lotus Notes Domino Support: Enterprise deployment customers who use
Lotus Notes can now schedule AT&T Telepresence Solution meetings via
their groupware platform. This is on top of the existing support for
Microsoft Outlook.
-- High Resolution Video Sharing: this feature allows customers to share
30
frames per second high frame rate content, such as high resolution
video, with meeting participants.
"We're focused on continuing to expand and innovate on the capabilities that
AT&T Telepresence Solution provides to companies throughout the world," said
Bill Archer, chief marketing officer, AT&T Business Solutions. "These latest
enhancements reflect our commitment to provide an industry-leading,
fully-managed Cisco TelePresence solution that offers companies the ability to
interact with their key business partners in a highly-secure environment."
"AT&T and Cisco continue to improve how companies conduct business by
collaborating in an entirely new way using AT&T Telepresence Solution," said
Mark Weidick, vice president and general manager of the Cisco TelePresence
Exchange business unit. "From in-person meetings with seamless
videoconferencing interoperability, to high resolution video sharing, this
next wave of collaborative applications substantially expands what Cisco
TelePresence can enable, making it even more useful and flexible for
organizations of all sizes anywhere around the world."
AT&T Telepresence Solution leverages the power of Cisco TelePresence to create
a unique, "in-person" experience with the simplicity of making a phone call as
well as provides a "meet me" feature with a highly-secure PIN code that
simplifies intercompany calling. AT&T Telepresence Solution also offers
multipoint functionality and reliable intercompany capabilities enabling
multiple locations to connect with one another.
The AT&T Telepresence Solution provides AT&T or customer supplied Cisco
TelePresence equipment, and includes installation, full monitoring and
management of the application, remote help desk service and on-site equipment
maintenance and repair, and works over AT&T Virtual Private Network transport.
