AUSTIN, TX, Jun 10 (MARKET WIRE) --
Sychron, provider of the world's most complete and cost effective
solution for deploying and managing server-based virtual desktops,
announced today that InformationWeek acknowledged Sychron as a "thought
leader for developing solutions that enable quick provisioning,
management, and guaranteed performance of virtual desktops on a large
scale." Advanced control of end-user service levels and automated
management of dynamic virtual system resources placed Sychron OnDemand
Desktop(TM) "above and beyond" the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
platforms offered by Citrix and VMware.

OnDemand Desktop was featured in InformationWeek's Rolling Review of
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Tools, which also included VMware View,
Citrix XenDesktop and other smaller players. While competitive solutions
offer simpler connection broker capabilities, Sychron provides service
level measurements and benchmarks for optimizing system performance and
the overall user experience. Using hands-free runtime automation, OnDemand
Desktop effectively anticipates and manages the dynamic load requirements
of virtual desktops to achieve instantaneous access for end users. The
Sychron systems management features can optimize end user experience
performance from 30 seconds to as little as 3 seconds.

An additional strength noted in the review was the Sychron solution's
ability to "easily build clusters with dissimilar hardware," which reduces
upfront capital expenditures when compared to competitive solutions. It
also builds on the value of flexibility by keeping technology choices open
as the business changes and grows. Most solutions require expensive
Storage Area Network configurations, but Sychron does not. OnDemand
Desktop reduces cost and complexity by requiring less expensive hardware
and reduced levels of expertise to administer and run.

The provisioning capabilities in OnDemand Desktop are "on par" with major
vendors and "would add value to VDI implementations of any size." The
reviewer notes that large organizations should consider OnDemand Desktop
if they "aren't happy with (VMware) View 3's provisioning and brokering
capabilities."

"OnDemand Desktop is designed to lower costs and deliver an automated,
easy to use management solution for virtual desktops, regardless of the
size of the enterprise," said Steve Kiser, president and CEO of Sychron.
"We are working toward a centralized virtual desktop management solution
for IT customers who want the flexibility of platform independence in
their data centers. Next quarter, you will see us deliver new features and
capabilities that will help customers realize real and immediate value,
increase enterprise productivity, and reduce hardware, operational and
energy costs associated with desktop management."
