MONTEREY, CA, Jun 10 (MARKET WIRE) --
A luxury home site in the posh Santa Lucia Preserve and a 2,100-acre
stretch of land overlooking the Soledad Valley may seem very different,
but the way Warren Ward sees it, they have a great deal in common.
Both are high-value California properties, both are secluded from the
encroachment of the outside world, and both will be sold at auction June
11-12, with Ward's company, Albert Burney Auction Company, managing the
sale.
"The Santa Lucia Preserve sets the standard in luxury living. It will
never have more than 300 homes, and it's so exclusive you don't even need
a tee time at the Tom Fazio-designed golf course. This site of
approximately 4.31 acres is one of the best locations in the preserve,
near the golf club, clubhouse, sports center and equestrian facilities,"
said Ward, president of Albert Burney.
The second property, approximately 2,100 acres in Monterey County, is
believed to be the largest contiguous property on the market in the
county, according to Ward. That property will sell in 11 tracts ranging
from approximately 40 acres to approximately 440 acres.
Approximately half the Monterey County land is located within the Chalone
American Viticultural Area, and some of it joins an existing vineyard.
"By selling in parcels, we're letting buyers bid on it in just the
combinations they want. So if we have a lot of bidders who want smaller
parcels, we'll sell it that way. On the other hand, we may have someone
who purchases the entire property," he said.
The Monterey County land will be sold at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at the
Inn at the Pinnacles in Soledad. The home site will be sold at 4 p.m.
Sunday, June 12, at the Quail Lodge in Carmel.
Albert Burney Auction Company, headquartered in Gadsden, Ala., is a
