SEBASTOPOL, Calif., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- AFFAIRS of the VINE has announced
the 5th Cabernet Shootout, inviting producers, importers and marketers of top
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Blends to join top wineries
who have already accepted the challenge.

Renown for The Pinot Noir Shootout, AFFAIRS of the VINE partners with
International Wine Review, Wine Radius and The Wine Spies to conduct this
year's Cabernet Shootout, an incredibly comprehensive and unique tasting of
Cabernet.

A diverse array of palates will gather to assess the best Cabernets from all
over the world at the Cabernet Shootout finals on July 13, 2009 in San
Francisco, California. The judges will define, explore and assess different
styles of Cabernet. The descriptors and scores of the panelists will be noted.
Descriptions of the wines by gender will be noted on the AFFAIRS of the VINE
website.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Shootout will be featured on Twitter, other Social
Media networks and in numerous wine publications.

The top wines will be showcased at a special Cabernet Sauvignon Shootout event
later this year.

The comments and reactions to the wines will be accessible on the Affairs of
the Vine website and will be posted by late August, 2009.

Unique aspects of the Cabernet Shootout:
-- The most comprehensive and focused competitive tasting of Cabernet in
the US, utilizing an incredibly diverse panel of experts.
-- Just 32 wines are tasted by the experts per day, allowing the judges
to
be completely immersed, focused and fair to the wines.
-- There's no palate fatigue as a factor.

-- The wines are tasted completely blind without reference to
appellation,
        vintage or price.
