American Discovery Incorporates Foreign Language Testing for Legal Document
Review

Language Proficiency Certification Furthers the Effort for Legal Industry
Standardization

LOS ANGELES, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- American Discovery, the leading global
provider of document review and litigation support services, today announced
its foreign language proficiency testing for its attorneys performing
discovery for complex litigation matters in Spanish, Korean, Cantonese,
Mandarin, and Japanese.

The foreign language proficiency test is believed to be among the first
formally adopted by a legal outsourcing organization as part of its quality
assurance and attorney hiring processes. The testing components include
measurement of an associate's proficiency to speak, write, and perform legal
work in those foreign languages frequently demanded by the company's clients.
Additional testing measures include cultural competency assessment which
ensures an individual's aptitude in the cultural nuances of language.

"The globalization of business has inevitably led to the globalization of
law," stated Michael Ford, Executive Vice President of American Discovery. "As
our clients' litigation spans several continents, we have increased requests
to perform document review and discovery consulting in multiple languages. In
turn, we have established a language proficiency test that further validates
the enhanced performance level of our document review process and the
attorneys that we hire."

American Discovery has retained industry leading linguistic experts previously
and currently affiliated with organizations such as the Monterey Institute of
International Studies (MIIS), The Defense Language Institute, The United
Nations, and the American Translator Association (ATA). Language proficiency
and cultural competency testing provides assurances that an attorney is not
only bilingual, but substantiates that the individual maintains oral, written,
analytical thinking, and legal proficiency in both English and the native
language. As litigation continues to become globalized, the testing initiative
also allows the legal industry to establish benchmarking, standardization, and
quality controls for foreign language proficiency.
