Robot-assisted ribbon cutting to launch Connecticut's World-Class Educational
Destination for Visitors of All Ages
WHAT: To celebrate the highly anticipated opening of the
Connecticut Science Center:

Friday, June 12, 2009 will mark a major milestone when
the Connecticut Science Center opens its doors and
welcomes the first of hundreds of thousands of visitors
to explore the world of science. Connecticut Governor M.
Jodi Rell will be attending to help open the doors to
the next generation of scientists, engineers, and
creative thinkers. After nearly a decade of meticulous
planning, careful research and the involvement of
hundreds of supporters, the vision of opening a world
class science education destination is now a reality.
Local FIRST Robotics teams will assist with the ribbon
cutting ceremonies, putting technology in the spotlight
on opening day.
The Connecticut Science Center will spark creative
imagination and an appreciation for science by immersing
visitors in fun and educational hands-on, minds-on
interactive experiences. Visitors will be able to enjoy
over 150 exhibits in ten galleries covering science
topics such as space, energy, biology, sports, health
and physics, sight and sound, geology and weather
forecasting -- all making science fun again.
