HARRISBURG, Pa.--(Business Wire)--
Commerce Bank/Harrisburg (NASDAQ: COBH) today announced that it will officially
operate under its new brand name, Metro Bank, starting Saturday, June 13.

The bank`s parent company, Pennsylvania Commerce Bancorp Inc. will begin
operating as Metro Bancorp Inc. on Monday, June 15. Metro Bancorp will trade on
the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the stock ticker symbol METR.

In celebration of its new name, the bank is extending its already renowned store
hours and also introducing a new model of its popular free coin-counting
machine.

"From red cherry-flavored lollipops to smiling customer service representatives,
Metro Bank will be familiar to those who knew us under the Commerce Bank brand,"
said Chairman, President and CEO Gary L. Nalbandian. "Attention to detail will
continue to be a mark of distinction. The care we put into customer service will
be unmistakable. And many things - like our convenient hours and free
coin-counting service - are going to be even better."

Longer Hours

Metro Bank`s lobbies will be open until 6 p.m., instead of 5 p.m., Monday
through Wednesday.

The bank pioneered seven-day branch banking in Central Pennsylvania more than a
decade ago, with store hours as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 8 p.m.

Metro Bank stores will be open:

* Monday - Wednesday: Lobby 8-6; Drive-thru 7:30-8
* Thursday and Friday: Lobby 8-8; Drive-thru 7:30-8
* Saturday: Lobby 8-3; Drive-thru 7:30-6
* Sunday: Lobby 11-4; Drive-thru 11-4

The bank also will continue to be open on all holidays throughout the year
except New Year`s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Magic Money Machine

Families who visit the bank`s free coin counter will now be greeted by Mikey and
his dog Magic, animated characters at Metro Bank`s new interactive Magic Money
Machine.

The Magic Money Machine simply counts loose change and prints a receipt, which
can be exchanged for cash or deposited right into a customer`s account. There
are two touch screens on the machine, one for adults and a separate one for
children at "kids-eye-level." Customers can even win prizes by correctly
guessing the amount of coins counted.

Taking into account fees charged by other coin-counting services, the bank saved
consumers $2.2 million last year.

More Convenient Services

Metro Bank also will offer all of the conveniences, products and services for
which Commerce Bank/Harrisburg was known including:

* Open 7 Days
* Open Early, Open Late
* Free Checking
* Free Instant-Issue Visa® Debit Card
* Free Visa® Gift Card
* 24/7 Live Customer Service
* Free Online Banking and Bill Pay

Customers can continue to use their existing Commerce Bank/Harrisburg checks,
debit cards and ATM cards. New Metro Bank checks will be issued upon reorder.
New Metro Bank debit and ATM cards will be issued to customers later this year.

The bank, which opened its first location in Camp Hill, Pa., in 1985, pioneered
industry-changing conveniences including seven-day branch banking, free personal
checking, free coin counting and use of a prototype store design.

Commerce Bank/Harrisburg is changing its name to Metro Bank because its license
to use the Commerce Bank brand and red "C" logo, granted by Commerce Bancorp
Inc. (now TD Bank), is expiring. Commerce Bank/Harrisburg and its parent
company, Pennsylvania Commerce Bancorp Inc., are not affiliates of TD Bank.

On November 10, 2008, Pennsylvania Commerce Bancorp entered into a definitive
agreement to acquire Philadelphia-based Republic First Bancorp Inc. in a
tax-free all stock transaction. The combined organization will have total assets
exceeding $3 billion and a network of 45 stores in Central Pennsylvania, Metro
Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. The merger is expected to close in the
third quarter of 2009, subject to regulatory approval.
