Western Union Appoints John T. Brennan to Manage U.S. Banking Channel Business Development

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(Business Wire)--
The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU), a world leader in global money transfer
services, today announced it has named John T. Brennan vice president business
development, The Americas, focusing on the U.S. banking channel.

Brennan will report to Carter Hunt, senior vice president, strategic accounts
and business development, The Americas. 

As Western Union expands its service offerings, in an effort to strongly
position money transfers to consumers, it looks to tap into consumer banking
channels including: Cash-to-Cash, Account-to-Cash, and Account-to-Account. 

Brennan joins Western Union from Dun & Bradstreet, where he served as global
solutions leader, managing marketing, risk and supply management solutions in
support of Citigroup NA, Merrill Lynch and Prudential. Prior to that, he was
senior vice president for First Data`s Debit Services, Enterprise Client
Relations unit managing relationships with Bank of America, Wells Fargo,
JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Washington Mutual, Key Bank, PNC, Citizens Bank, and
SunTrust. 

As senior vice president sales and integrated solutions at Visa USA, Brennan
spent 14 years promoting Visa products (credit card, commercial card and check
card products) for three of Visa`s largest member banks: Citibank, JPMorgan
Chase and Fleet, among other areas of increasing responsibilities. 

Earlier in his career, Brennan worked for Barclays Bank International,
Interpayment division and Chase Manhattan Travelers Cheques Service, the second
largest issuer of Visa travelers cheques worldwide at the time. He is a graduate
of Rutgers University and has completed an executive development program at the
University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School. 

Recently, Western Union signed agreements with U.S. Bank, the sixth largest
commercial bank in the United States to offer the Western Union global
money-transfer service across 2,791 U.S. Bank branch locations in 24 states; and
with Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), a leading provider of
processing and technology solutions for financial institutions throughout the
world with more than 8,500 banking institution clients throughout the United
States.
