A Complimentary Continuing Education Newsletter Series for Healthcare
Professionals

VOORHEES, N.J., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Angioedema is a clinical syndrome
characterized by localized, subcutaneous and/or submucosal swelling.
Diagnosing the underlying cause of angioedema can be challenging, as there are
multiple etiologies of this condition, all of which produce nearly identical
symptoms. It is critical for healthcare professionals to understand the
various causes of angioedema, as this is the first step toward accurate
diagnosis and management of this complex condition.

To address the need for current education on angioedema, Robert Michael
Educational Institute LLC (RMEI) and Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM)
are jointly sponsoring a complimentary continuing education newsletter series
titled New Directions in Angioedema. The second issue of this three-part
newsletter series has just been released and is titled New Directions in
Angioedema: A Focus on Etiologies and Clinical Approach. This issue is
designed to assist physicians and nurses in understanding the etiology and
diagnosis of angioedema. This activity is supported by an educational grant
from ViroPharma Incorporated.

Timothy J. Craig, DO, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Pennsylvania
State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Aleena
Banerji, MD, Instructor of Medicine and Assistant Training Program Director at
Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, comprise the
editorial board for this newsletter series.
