BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON, Jun 10 (MARKET WIRE) --
Simba Technologies Inc., industry's source for standards-based data
connectivity solutions, announces the release of its custom ODBC driver
that connects a multitude of familiar applications, including Microsoft
Excel and Access, to Microsoft HealthVault. The ODBC driver gives users a
convenient way to access, view and use data uploaded into a HealthVault
account from various health and fitness devices. HealthVault is a privacy
and security-enhanced data storage and sharing platform that helps
consumers enable an easy, ongoing exchange of data among different health
applications and devices in a centralized location.

"There is an entire ecosystem of amazing, smart health devices and
software applications that interface with and enable central information
storage on HealthVault," said Amyn Rajan, CEO of Simba Technologies.
"Simba's custom ODBC driver for HealthVault enables users to access data
uploaded from their smart health devices and do things like review it and
chart it in familiar software applications like Excel."

Simba's ODBC driver provides users with a choice in which application
they choose to review and track their health data. Users can upload data
into HealthVault from a wide variety of smart health devices, including
heart rate monitors, pedometers, glucose meters and asthma inhalers, and
then pull the data into applications to graph and review it. For example,
a user can test their blood sugar levels with a glucose meter, sync the
data to HealthVault and then use an application such as Excel to graph it
and look for patterns. Similarly, with patient permission, a doctor can
use an application to review and chart a patient's data.

"We're excited to see the number of tools available to consumers and
their physicians to track and monitor health information expanding," said
David Cerino, General Manager of the Consumer Health Solutions Group at
Microsoft. "Simba's offering bridges online record management with
offline analysis in familiar desktop tools. This exemplifies our goal of
putting the consumers at the center of their health information by giving
them more choices for better managing their health."

Simba is distributing the ODBC connectivity driver for free on its
website at http://www.simba.com/ODBC-Driver-for-HealthVault.htm.

The ODBC driver, based upon Simba's proven ODBC data connectivity
technology, leverages Simba's expertise in building connectivity
solutions - in this case, standards-based data connectivity to a
web-based data source like HealthVault. Although, Rajan noted that
Simba's software expertise and driver development capabilities extend far
beyond.

"Simba has been developing custom data drivers and device drivers for
many years," said Rajan. "Through our software development division we
have helped numerous companies develop specialized connectivity and
software. Our expertise includes device drivers for HealthVault
connectivity, as well as general software development services. We've
built this custom ODBC driver and have chosen to freely distribute it to
help people get better connected; it's also an example of what can be
done."
