Michael Reagan to Host Press Conference at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin on

WHO: Michael Reagan, eldest son of Pres. Ronald Reagan, and founder of the
Reagan Legacy Foundation. Reagan will join Don F. Jordan, U.S. journalist and
recipient of the Lucius D. Clay medal, and Alexandra Hildebrandt, head of
Checkpoint Charlie Museum and widow of late Dr. Reinhard Hildebrandt, the
founder of museum.
WHAT: Press conference to announce a new permanent exhibit honoring Pres.
Ronald W. Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, at the "Checkpoint
Charlie" Museum in Berlin, Germany. Reagan will present several personal
belongings of his late father to the museum which opens in November 2009.
WHERE: Cafe Einstein Stammhaus, 1st floor, Kurfuerstenstrasse 58, 10785
Berlin.
WHEN: 6 p.m. (local), Friday, June 12, 2009. (12 noon Eastern U.S.)
WHY: To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Pres. Reagan'sJune 12, 1987
famous speech ("Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall") and educate the public
about Reagan's historic contributions to the fall of communism and the
reunification of Germany.
The exhibit is a part of a formal agreement between the Reagan Legacy
Foundation and museum officials in Berlin to create a monument to Pres.
Reagan's legacy to ending the Cold War between the United States and the
Soviet Union. The project's goal is to honor Pres. Reagan and to educate the
public about his great contributions to the reunification of Germany.
