TAIPEI, Taiwan--(Business Wire)--
Display Taiwan 2009, with the concurrently-held Photonics Festival in Taiwan
2009 was inaugurated this June 10th at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition.
Over 200 exhibitors in the exhibition showcase the latest technology and
products that indicates the future trend of the whole display industry- to be
slim, wireless, flexible, and eco-friendly.

This year`s Display Taiwan will emphasize the most noticeable and
rapidly-growing products- e-paper and touch panels. According to statistics of
PIDA, the numbers of manufactures that enter e-paper and touch panel market have
greatly increased since last year. It is predicted that e-paper in the second
half of 2009 will show a great diversity in the market. Regarding touch panels,
multi-touch will become the mainstream technology in the market, though which
type of touch panel technologies remains unknown so far. In addition to the
above, being "green" is another important issue of Display Taiwan 2009. The
specially-planned "Advanced Green Photonics Zone" will showcase a series of
technologies or products that are energy-saving, low-/non-polluting. For
instance, panel giant AUO will introduce its LEED (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) gold-certified TFT-LCD facility during the three-day show,
while Wintek and Powertip will showcase respectively the multi-touch resistive
touch panel and field-sequential LCD.

Besides the attractions of the trade show, the crowds will also be drawn by
Display Taiwan 2009 Business & Technology Forum which takes place in conjunction
with the exposition. Speakers from leading companies such as Samsung, Hitachi,
Bridgestone, TCL, Kodak, AUO, CMO will definitely bring all participants an
insightful discussion on the hottest topics in FPD industry, including Masanori
Yoshino of Hitachi on "Hitachi Ultra-Thin TV and Future FPD Products Strategy,"
Alan T. Eusden of Corning on "Corning`s Outlook on TFT-LCD," Koichi Miwa of
Kodak on "White + CF Approach for AMOLED TV," and Brian Sung of Elan
Microelectronics Corp. on "The Application and Technology of Capacitive Touch
Panel," and so on.

Key exhibitors of Display Taiwan 2009 including CMO, AUO, CPT, Corning,
Qualcomm, 3M, Sipix, SPG, SFA, Nissan Chemical, WoongJin will all attend this
big event in FPD industry. Further, over 50 buyers from all over the world, such
as SEMP, the biggest TV maker in Brazil, HP, Toshiba…etc will also come to
explore for future business.

Being the crucial market for international suppliers of FPD manufacturing
equipment, components, and materials, Taiwan benefits by China`s
government-funded project- "home appliances going to the countryside" and
emerging markets such as Russia or Latin America, and thus remains strength to
battle the global economic shakeout since the second half year of 2008. PIDA
expects the annual revenue of Taiwan FPD industry in 2009 will reach USD 46
billion and remain a global market share of 38% as the top of the world.

Display Taiwan 2009, with the strong commitment and support from world-class
panel makers, promises to help boost the industry vitality as well as to
stimulate the business in the FPD field. We believe with the passion and efforts
from all participants in the show, Display Taiwan 2009 would create win-win
opportunities for everyone and bring the FPD industry an amazing success.
