Nikkei hits 8-month high, trading houses gain

TOKYO, June 11 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average edged up 0.01 percent on Thursday to an eight-month high just a breath under the psychologically important 10,000 level, with trading houses such as Mitsubishi Corp (8058.T) up on higher oil prices.

The benchmark Nikkei .N225 then edged down 3.48 points to 9,988.01, while the broader Topix .TOPX gained 0.1 percent to 937.77. (Reporting by Elaine Lies)
