(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 8:30 a.m. EDT (1230 GMT) on Sunday.

FARAH - A couple who worked as health workers in Farah province in Afghanistan's west were found shot dead in their home overnight, the provincial governor said. Authorities were investigating to determine whether they were killed by criminals or by Taliban guerrillas, he said.

PAKTIA - Taliban fighters killed two policemen in an attack in southeastern Paktia province, a local official said.

PAKTIA - Insurgents killed a religious leader overnight in Paktia, the education ministry said.

FARYAB - Afghan security forces killed two militants and wounded 14 others during an operation in northwestern Faryab, the interior ministry said.

Reuters could not reach the Taliban for comment about any of these reports.
