Department for Advanced Device Development Honored for Remarkable PSoC
Deployment

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
A team from Belarus National Technical University (BNTU) was presented with the
Second Annual Professor E.I. Tochitsky Fellowship Award. Under the leadership of
Professor Igor E. Zuikov, the groups from the Department for Advanced Device
Development implemented a massive deployment of the Cypress PSoC programmable
system-on-chip platform, including multiple PSoC-based seminars and diploma
works. The award was presented at a ceremony in Minsk, Belarus.

"PSoC has been a wonderful teaching and design platform for us," said Professor
Zuikov. "We are looking forward to continuing work with the platform, including
next-generation devices."

Leading principals of BG Partners-Professor Alexander P. Ryjov, Dr. Irina E.
Tochitskaya, and Entrepreneur-In-Residence Paul Molchanov (Winner of the 2007
Cypress PSoC Challenge)-presented the Award to BNTU. "We clearly recognize the
enormous potential of BNTU as an excellent PSoC design center," said Dr. Victor
V. Boksha, Managing Director of BG Partners. "We expect the BNTU team will
further develop under the capable guidance of Professors Zuikov and Piotr G.
Krivicky. We think that BNTU will augment the outstanding PSoC design
capabilities we already have in Kiev and Cairo. We look forward to working
together to fully realize in Belarus the immense potential for PSoC-based
solutions."

"We are very happy to have the sophisticated Belarus National Technical
University team as part of the Cypress family," said Patrick Kane, director of
the Cypress University Alliance. "They are without a doubt one of the most
dynamic and imaginative groups embracing the PSoC platform."

BG Partners Group, Cypress Semiconductor University Alliance, and Professor E.I.
Tochitsky`s family established the Fellowship in 2007 to recognize and support a
best Student-Professor Entrepreneurial Effort. The fellowship was founded in
memory of Professor Eduard Ivanovich Tochitsky (1935 - 2007) - a remarkable
business and technology leader. The fellowship is instituted to support young
entrepreneurial talent from Belarus - the motherland of Professor Tochitsky.
Best works from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Kuwait, and Greece also will
be considered. The 2007 Award went to Professor Victor F. Zavortony`s group
(Ukraine National Technical University) - the Winner of the 2008 Cypress PSoC
Challenge. There are three main components of the Fellowship: the opportunity to
work with BG Partners to create a business plan for an innovative product; an
interview with Cypress concerning a potential internship; and a student
financial award.
